The checklist below is provided to help photographer doing guided and self-guided trips for the first-time on their own. All the necessary equipment during your tour in the hides and beyond will be of importance to you for comfort and successful shooting of the species.

- Stable tripod
- Gimbal head
- Extra batteries
- Extra memory cards
- Back up camera and lens
- Battery recharger
- Teleconverters
- Flashlight (optional)
- Binocular (optional)
- Water container
- Comfortable dark/camouflage clothes for hide
- Warm clothes
- Extra clothes, socks and shoes
- Comfortable boots
- 100% waterproof trousers or over-trousers
- Personal medicines
- Torch or headlamp with spare batteries
- Insect repellent
- Sun hat (+ neck cover)
- Sun glasses
